Good to Know
Common questions
Do you offer a free trial class?
Yes. Every class offers a free trial, so your child can come along and try it before you decide anything. Pick a class above and book a trial, and we will be in touch to confirm the details. (Some terms have trials after our performances).
What ages are the classes for?
Classes are for ages 6 to 16, grouped so children are with others around their own age and stage. Bright Beginners is musical theatre for 6 to 9 year olds, Developing Dramatics is drama for 7 to 10, Funky Freshies is musical theatre for 10 to 13, and Upbeat Up-and-Comers is musical theatre for 12 to 16. The ages overlap on purpose, so if your child could sit in either, email us and we will help you choose.
Where are the classes held?
At Our Lady of Fatima in Palmyra, a short drive from Bicton, Attadale, Melville, Fremantle and the surrounding suburbs. We send the exact room and entrance once a trial or enrolment is booked, along with everything else you need for the first day.
What days do classes run?
Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, after school. Bright Beginners (6-9yrs) and Funky Freshies (10-13yrs) run on Wednesdays, and Developing Dramatics (7-10yrs) and Upbeat Up-and-Comers (12-16yrs) run on Thursdays. The start and finish time for each one is on its class card above.
Does my child need any experience?
None at all, and most children arrive with none. Classes are small and warm, and they are built to grow confidence, stage skills and friendships from wherever your child is starting. Plenty of our students joined without having performed before.
What does my child do in class?
Musical theatre classes cover acting, singing and dance together, and drama classes focus on acting, improvisation and performance skills. Every year builds towards a full production on a real stage, so the work across the terms is heading somewhere your child can be proud of.
